Jamblang leaves are green with a pinnate spine system. If you look at it at a glance, physically, jamblang leaves are quite thick and wide with leaf stalks approximately 1 cm to 3.5 cm long. The shape of the leaves resembles shiny wedge leaves with a length of between 7 cm and 16 cm and a width of approximately 9 cm.

Jamblang flowers are a type of compound fruit that has a panicle shape. This flower grows from the leaf axil right at the end of the branch. The shape of the petals of the jamblang flower resembles a bell with a light green color, while the crown resembles an egg which has a large number of stamens and emits a fragrant aroma.

Jamblang fruit is about 2 to 3 cm long with an oval shape. This fruit will be green when it is young, then turn purplish red to slightly black after it is ripe. If opened, the flesh is yellow and white to purplish. The taste tends to be sour to sweet with a slight astringent taste.
