Alocasia chaii


Alocasia chaii, is one of the exotic ornamental plants of the Araceae family. This plant is native to Kalimantan, to be precise from Sarawak, Malaysia.

Alocasia chaii plants including medium-sized plants, the maximum number of leaves is 4 leaves. The petiole is strong and about 20 cm long, slightly hairy, pale green, with scattered red spots

The leaf blade is elliptical, in maximum condition it can reach 40 cm, but mostly about 23 cm, 10-15 cm wide. The leaves are also thick and a bit rough, but it looks even more exotic.

Habitat Alocasia chaii, in moist mountain forests, among fallen leaves, in slightly open places or in the shade of trees, at an altitude of 540-670 m above sea level.

In Indonesia, the plant Alocasia chaii, some also call it “rhinoceros taro”, a name that is also attached to the species Alocasia melo. This plant is one of the favorite ornamental plants for Alocasia fans.
