Colocasia esculenta ‘Jack’s Giant’, is a plant of the genus Colocasia in the family Araceae.
“Jack’s Giant”, first published by Jack de Vroomen of the Marlboro Bulb Company, who brought Elephant Ears from Costarica.
Jack’s Giant has speckled leaves, with a green base. In general this plant is Colocasia esculenta, for this spotted plant it may be a variant of Colocasia esculenta.
It is not known with certainty, whether the abnormality in the color of the Jack’ Giant leaf pattern is the originality of this plant (permanent) its own variant (the offspring will also be like this), or by chance, a temporary natural abnormality. In some cases, plants that have leaves like this, when they produce new leaf shoots, return to the green color that the original species looks like.
Like the habit of the Colocasia esculenta species, which is easy to adapt to its environment, of course Jack’s Giant also has the same ability to live, easy to live in all places, in wet or dry conditions.
